Dr. Pawan Kumar was awarded the Qualcomm Faculty award-2022 in March.
Prof. Pradeep Kumar Ramancharla is the new Director of Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) at Roorkee.
Dr. Ashok Kumar is among this elite group recognized for the exceptional research influence, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in the Web of Science™.
Dr. Vineet Gandhi was adjudged as an outstanding reviewer at the 39th International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML-2022) held at Baltimore, Maryland from 17 – 23 July.

Prof. R Pradeep Kumar was awarded the Outstanding Concrete Engineer of Telangana 2021 by Indian Concrete Institute. This award is given annually for outstanding contribution in the field of concrete technology, promotion of concrete structures, research in concrete and more.
Prof. Vishal Garg have been elevated as a Fellow of the international society – IBPSA, International Building Performance Simulation Association at the biannual conference in Rome from 2 – 4 September. Prof. Vishal Garg and Prof. Jyotirmay Mathur from MNIT Jaipur are the first Indian’s to receive this honour.
Dr. Vinoo Alluri wrote a book chapter on Neural Correlates of Timbre Processing in Timbre: Acoustics, Perception, and Cognition published by Springer. The other author of this book chapter is Sudarsana Reddy Kadiri (currently doing postdoc in Helsinki, P.hD from IIITH)
Dr. Ashok Kumar Das edited a book on Blockchain and Applications – International Congress published by Springer. The other editors of this book are Javier Prieto, Stefano Ferretti, António Pinto, and Juan Manuel Corchado.
IIIT Hyderabad was ranked 78 under University category and 43 under Engineering category by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
Prof. P K Vinod, Prof. C V Jawahar and Sairam Tabibu (research fellow) published a paper on Pan-Renal Cell Carcinoma classification and survival prediction from histopathology images using deep learning in Nature Scientific Reports. 
Dr. Priyanka Srivastava and her team – Anurag Rimzhim (CCSU, US), Palash Vijay (IIITH), Shruti Singh (IIITH), Sushil Chandra (INMAS, DRDO, New Delhi)  presented a paper on Desktop VR is better than Non-ambulatory HMD VR for spatial learning at EuroVR 2017, Laval, France from 12 – 17 December. Their paper was awarded one of the best papers from Euro VR 2017 in a peer-reviewed journal Frontiers in Robotics and AI (2018) in July 2019.
IIITH team Occams Razor won the Smart India Hackathon 2020 for the problem statement DS165 Library Software for Andaman College.

Third year BTech (Hons) students Rohan Chacko and Aadil Mehdi Sanchawala, have won the second place at the Microsoft CodeFunDo ++ 2019 hackathon
In a survey conducted by DataQuest in association with Dell Technologies, IIIT Hyderabad has been ranked second under India’s best 100 tech-enabled Engineering colleges and institutions (including both government and private colleges). And has been ranked first in the South zone.
