Dr. Ashok Kumar is among this elite group recognized for the exceptional research influence, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in the Web of Science™.
Dr. Vineet Gandhi was adjudged as an outstanding reviewer at the 39th International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML-2022) held at Baltimore, Maryland from 17 – 23 July.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Das has been included in the list of Web of Science (Clarivate™) Highly Cited Researcher 2022 in recognition for his exceptional research performance demonstrated by production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% for field and year.
Dr. Pawan Kumar was awarded the Qualcomm Faculty award-2022 in March.
Prof. Pradeep Kumar Ramancharla is the new Director of Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) at Roorkee.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Das is serving as a member of Technical Program Committee (TPC) for the 18th IEEE International Conference on Wireless and Mobile Computing, Networking and Communications (WiMob 2022), 2022, Thessaloniki, Greece from 10 – 12 October 2022.
Seven PhD students received prestigious fellowships:
– 4 from TCS
– 1 from Google
– 1 from IBM Research
– 1 from Microsoft Research.
IIIT-H team (Mission Gaganyaan) won the third place at CANSAT-2011 competition held at Abilene, Texas, USA
Two IIIT-H teams were the in top 4 in the ACM – ICPC 2011 national contest.
Dr. Neelima Satyam, Earthquake Engineering Research Center (EERC) received the Young Engineers Award 2011-12 from Institution of Engineers.
M. Kumaraswamy (PhD student) received the best paper presentation award for the paper “Village-level eSagu: A Scalable and Location-Specific Agro-advisory System” in National Seminar on Futuristic Agricultural Extension for Livelihood Improvement and Sustainable Development in January 2013 at Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.
IIIT-H team represented India for a record 5th time in a row at finals of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest held in St. Petersburg.
Seven PhD students received fellowships:

– 1 from Microsoft Research.
Harini Sampath (PhD student) won 3rd prize and Yashaswi Verma (PhD student) won the honorable mention award in TechVista 2013. TechVista is an annual Computer Science research symposium organized by Microsoft Research India.
Prof. P. J. Narayanan, Centre for Visual Information Technology (CVIT) received Presidential Award from ACM for his service to the company community.
Yashaswi Verma (PhD student) from Center for Visual Information Technology (CVIT) received prestigious Microsoft Research India PhD Fellowship for the year 2013.
