Dr. Ashok Kumar is among this elite group recognized for the exceptional research influence, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in the Web of Science™.
Dr. Vineet Gandhi was adjudged as an outstanding reviewer at the 39th International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML-2022) held at Baltimore, Maryland from 17 – 23 July.

 IIIT Hyderabad has been ranked India’s number 1 private engineering institution in the annual Education World India Higher Education Rankings 2022-23.
In a survey conducted by DataQuest Best T-School, IIIT Hyderabad has been ranked third at All India Level and has been ranked second in the South zone. The survey focussed on UG programs offered at Higher education institutions and technical institutions. The methodology consists of 48 attributes grouped into 6 sections based on 4 parameters – PACE: (i) Placements – 30% (ii) Academic & research – 30% (iii) Campus infrastructure – 15% (iv) Engagement and Outreach etc. – 25%.
IIITH is recognised in the “PROMISING” category of “University & Deemed to be University (Private/Self Financed) (Technical)” by Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement(ARIIA) 2021, a flagship program of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Dr. Nazia Akhtar received a special commendation from the jury of the Jawad Memorial Prize for Urdu-English Translation. Nazia translated the Urdu short story Chhottam Jaan written by Zeenath Sajida. In 2017, Nazia was awarded a New India Foundation fellowship to write a book on Urdu prose by Hyderabadi women.
Prof. Ponnurangam Kumaraguru has been named a Distinguished Member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the world’s largest and most prestigious society of computing professionals.
IIITH with its good score in research and innovation is now in the top 600 universities across the world according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023.

Rishikesh Bose, Master of Science 1st year; Ayush Kumar Lall, 3rd year Dual Degree; Nilesh Bawankar, Master of Science 1st year and Ansh Khandelwal, 3rd Year BTech Honors won the water challenge hackathon conducted by Smart City Living Lab with Govt. of Telangana.
Vivek Mathur, UG3-CND, working under the supervision of Dr. Tapan Kumar Sau participated in the Summer Research Fellowship program from June – August organized jointly by The Indian National Science Academy (INSA), The Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS) and The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI). The program was onsite at IIT Delhi, Laboratory of Electronic Materials with Dr. Nirat Ray, Department of Materials Sciences and Engineering. He was selected in the “Engineering including Computer Sciences” category.
Shri Vidhatri M M, UG4, CND received the best paper award in the Sensors and Measurements section for her work on Development of sensor for monitoring the integrity of lubrication system of heavy duty pumps in nuclear reactors at the 2nd IEEE International Conference on Emerging Frontiers in Electrical and Electronic Technologies (ICEFEET 2022) in NIT Patna from 24 – 25 June.
