K Sai Deepak, in the first semester of his PhD program at IIIT-H, was selected for 2012 Google PhD Fellowship. Only four fellowships were awarded this year in India. This is the first year of Google's Doctoral Fellowships in India.
Sai Deepak completed IIIT-H's flagship master's program MS by Research in Medical Image Analysis at the institute's Center for Visual Information Technologies (CVIT), under the guidance of Prof. Jayanti Sivaswamy, in 2012.
