NAAC Accreditation

International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad is an autonomous university founded in 1998.  It was set up under a not-for-profit public private partnership (N-PPP) and is the first IIIT set up under this model in India.  State Government has helped set it up and supported through the grant of land and buildings.

IIITH is among the most diverse universities with a keen focus on core areas of Information Technology such as Computer Science, Electronics and Communications and their applications in other domains.  Several renowned centers of excellence are part of IIITH thus widening its research portfolio in all directions.  The Institute has established collaborative linkages with national and international MNCs of repute.

IIITH was awarded ‘A’ Grade by The Executive Committee of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in September 2011.  The peer team studies the strengths and weaknesses on key aspects of the Institute such as

As per the requirement, Internal Quality Assurance Committee (IQAC) of IIITH was formed with the following composition:

Functions of IQAC

  1. Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution;

  2. Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process;

  3. Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;

  4. Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education;

  5. Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles;

  6. Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement;

  7. Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices;

  8. Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality;

  9. Development of Quality Culture in the institution;

  10. Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC.

Strategies of IQAC

IQAC evolves mechanisms and procedures for:

  • Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.

  • Ensures accountability and transparency in all the matters related to decision making process.

  • Ensures the collective and cooperative academic and administrative environment in the institute.

  • Optimisation and integration of modern methods of teaching, learning and evaluation.

  • Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structure.
