Dr. Nazia Akhtar received a special commendation from the jury of the Jawad Memorial Prize for Urdu-English Translation. Nazia translated the Urdu short story Chhottam Jaan written by Zeenath Sajida. In 2017, Nazia was awarded a New India Foundation fellowship to write a book on Urdu prose by Hyderabadi women.

Namboodiri (Co-PI), and Dr. Kishore Kothapalli (Co-PI) by MeitY, Government of India from 2022 – 2024. It is a joint project with Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) Hyderabad and IIT Bhilai. Total budget sanctioned is Rs 23.72 Crore.
