Prof. C V Jawahar and his students Sanjana Gunna and Rohit Saluja were awarded the Best Paper Award for their paper on Transfer Learning for Scene Text Recognition in Indian Languages at the ICDAR 2021 workshop on camera-based document analysis and recognition (CBDAR 2021, 9th edition) in Lausanne, Switzerland from 5 – 10 September.

The program was onsite at IIT Delhi, Laboratory of Electronic Materials with Dr. Nirat Ray, Department of Materials Sciences and Engineering. He was selected in the “Engineering including Computer Sciences” category.

Team Cerebrus, Robotics Research Center (RRC) secured second place at the ARTPARK Robotics Challenge conducted by IISc Bangalore’s Innovation Hub. IIITH team Cerebrus was led by Suraj Bonagiri, PhD scholar as well as founder of a drone startup, Arka Aerospace, and included Vedant Mundheda, Karan Mirakhor, Rahul Kashyap, Sreeharsha Paruhuri and Karnik Ram.
