The authors have been invited to submit this paper in a special edition of IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems (TBioCAS). The selection of paper as one of the top contributions is usually equivalent to the Best Paper Award. The authors were not allowed to participate in the best paper award category as all the authors were professors.
