Shweta Kumari, Ph.D student, Center for Computational Natural Sciences and Bioinformatics (CCNSB) and Abishek Bharadhwaj, Ph.D student of CCMB Hyderabad won the best poster award for their research work on Structural modulation in Smoothened (SMO) upon cholesterol binding at the second edition of student-driven conference Hy-Sci 2020 held virtually from 17 – 18 December.

In a global event conducted jointly by the University of Helsinki and Slush to tackle the growing urban air pollution crisis, a IIITH team of students made the jury’s cut and featured among the 8 shortlisted teams.

A team comprising Adhithya Arun and Meher Shashwat Nigam, 4th year BTech students, along with few others walked away with the second place in the 3rd edition of the virtual Blockchain and Data Science hackathon event that was conducted from 9 – 11 October 2020.

M.Tech CSE students Shanu Gandhi, Shreyas Nagraj, Upinder Singh and Manik Gupta, B.Tech CSE student Vijayraj S. and dual degree student Pradeep P. won the hackathon “Payments and Pandemic” in category “Best Use of Visa API”, conducted during their virtual summer internship at VISA. Over 50 teams of interns participated from India and around the world in teams of 4-6 size and IIITH was among the 6 winning teams and only team from India to win.
