Welcome To CompSysBio lab

Our lab is situated at the Centre for Computational Natural Sciences and Bioinformatics, IIIT Hyderabad. We are an interdisciplinary team working at the intersection of biology, mathematics, and computer science. Our approach involves utilizing both bottom-up methodologies, which entail building detailed mathematical models, and top-down strategies, which involve analyzing large-scale datasets. These approaches allow us to generate a systems-level understanding of complex cellular processes and human diseases, thereby leading to the formulation of novel hypotheses.

Our research encompasses key areas:

Network Modeling: We employ mathematical modeling, dynamical systems theory, and network theory to explore the structure and dynamics of intricate biological networks. This approach allows us to uncover fundamental principles governing cellular interactions and signaling pathways.

Data Analysis Across Multiple Levels: Our analysis spans various types of data, including clinical records, bulk and single-cell omics data, and tissue-level images. By leveraging machine learning and deep learning techniques, we develop models capable of classifying disease stages and predicting severity.

In recent years, our research has made significant contributions to various areas, including:

    1. Cell cycle control during development.

    2. Quiescence-proliferation decision in different contexts.

    3. Machine learning applications for cancer diagnosis and prognosis and COVID-19.

    4. Network biology of metabolic disorders and COVID-19.

    5. Regulatory networks of neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders.

    6. Whole-brain functional network of aging and autism spectrum disorder.
