Advertisement for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (2 No) in the DST sponsored
research project “canopy spectral biochemical analysis of forest species using hyperspectral remote sensing – a case study from Eastern Ghats forest ecosystems”
Duration of the project: 3 years (June 2016- May 2019). The fellowship will be offered initially for a period of one year, which can be extended till the duration of the project depending on the performance of the candidate. The selected candidates are encouraged to register for PhD Programme.

Essential Qualifications:

M.E./M. Tech in Remote sensing /GIS/ Geomatics / Geoinformatics OR
M.Sc in Remote sensing/GIS/Geomatics/Geoinformatics/Forestry/Geography with valid
GATE/NET Score.
Desirable:
(i) Good working knowledge of different GIS, remote sensing and Statistical software’s
(ii) Knowledge of remote sensing data analysis in forestry domain
(iii)Knowledge of multivariate statistical analysis
(iv)Good programming skills in IDL/Matlab/Python
(v) Good oral and written communication skills
(vi) Willingness to participate in extensive field visits in forest ecosystems of Eastern ghats
Stipend: Rs. 25000/- + 30% HRA
