Sabarmati Sangeeth is a music based character building project rolled out of personal interest by IIIT-H's Cultural Advisor Sri. DVK Vasudevan, popularly known as Violin Vasu in the campus.

Started exactly five years ago to date, on Jan 30, 2007, on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi's death anniversary, Sabarmati Sangeeth‘s aim is to build human values and character in the children and youth of India and to promote peace, national integrity, patriotism, and communal harmony in society, by popularizing the favorite bhajans and teachings of the Mahatma.

The Directorate of Jawahar Bal Bhavan, which is part of the Education Department of Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP), has recently announced its decision to include the curriculum of Sabarmati Sangeeth in the music syllabus of the Jawahar Bal Bhavans.
