Dr. Deva Priyakumar Awarded Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award (IYBA)

Dr. Deva Priyakumar, an assistant professor with IIIT-H's Center for Computational Natural Sciences & Bioinformatics (CCNSB), has been awarded the Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award (IYBA) for the year 2010. (Feb 2011)

The award is presented, each year, by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India (GoI), to outstanding young scientists below the age of 35 years with innovative ideas and desirous of pursuing research in the frontier areas of biotechnology.

Earlier, Dr. Deva Priyakumar won the prestigious Young Scientist Research Award 2009 from the Government of India's Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) for a research proposal to investigate biologically relevant and therapeutically important heterogeneous nucleic acids using molecular dynamics simulations and computer aided drug design techniques.
