IIIT-H Wins Grand Prize at Intel India Innovation Contest

IIIT-H has won the Overall First Prize at Intel India Embedded Challenge 2011, one of the most challenging and largest innovation contests in embedded technology in India.

A low cost, solar powered crop harvesting robot from IIIT-H's Engineering & Technology Innovation Center (ENTICE) has bagged the top honors The crop harvesting robot has been designed and built by TJ David and Kudikala Shravan Kumar, the project coordinator and the project intern respectively, with the ENTICE. Prof. Pradeep Kumar Ramancharla heads the center.

The IIIT-H innovation was one of the 1,600 entries the contest received from students, faculty, scientists, engineers, and any one interested in participation, from across the country. The competition is an initiative by Intel in India to recognize and reward outstanding ideas in embedded technology, based on the Intel Atom processor.
