Prof. Kesav Nori, IIIT-H's Distinguished Faculty member, has been awarded the CSI Fellowship 2009-10 by the Computer Society of India (CSI), at its annual convention at Mumbai, on Nov 25 to 27, 2010.
Prof. Kesav Nori is one of the three Indian computer science professionals honored with the prestigious Fellowship for advancing the frontiers of the computer science discipline. (Nov 2010).
“In the 45 years since CSI came into being, it has honored a total of 100 professionals with this premier fellowship. Therefore the award to Prof. Kesav Nori is a recognition that our faculty member is among the top 100 computer science professionals in India. Also, there are fewer than 10 CSI Fellows in Hyderabad,” Maj Gen (Retd) Dr. R K Bagga, AVSM, Advisor, IIIT-H's Outreach Division.
Incidentally, at the convention, Prof. Rajeev Sangal delivered an invited talk on "Research Lead Education: A New Model for Research Universities in India," while Prof. KS Rajan presented an invited talk on "Pushing the Frontier Areas of Computer Science."
Maj. Gen. Bagga's book "Enablers of Change: Selected e-Governance Initiatives in India", published by ICFAI Press, was released by the Hon. Minister of Revenue, Government of Goa, Mr. Jose D'Souza, the chief guest at the convention.
