Fellowship of the Society of Applied Biotechnology (FSAB) for Dr. Shubhajit Roy Chowdhury

Dr. Shubhajit Roy Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, Center for VLSI & Embedded Systems Technologies (C-VEST), has been selected as the Fellow of the Society of Applied Biotechnology (FSAB).

The FSAB marks the recognition of Dr. Shubhajit's work in developing an embedded processor for medical diagnosis with potential for application in rural health care.

The FSAB will formally be awarded at the forthcoming Second National Conference on Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Bioengineering, at Kolhapur, Maharashtra.

The Society for Applied Biotechnology (SAB) selects five persons every year for the fellowship, which will remain valid for the life of the awardee.

Congratulations to Dr. Shubhajit Roy Chowdhury !

In the recent past, Dr. Shubhajit was in the news for helping undergraduate students win the following contests.

  • Best Poster Award at the National Conference on Sensors and Actuators 2011. The conference was jointly organized by the Government of India's Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Government of India's Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), at Kolkata. (March 2011)
  • First Prize at a national level techno symposium, for the project “Aarogyam”, a software enabled tool for patient diagnosis. The tool was developed as part of the SSAD – IIIT-H's curricular project. (Feb 2011)
  • Top 4 place at the World Embedded Software Contest 2010 (WESC 2010), Seoul, South Korea. The work involved the development and demonstration of a virtual gaming environment called Red Eye. (Nov 2010)
