  • Application via our admissions portal.
  • Reporting your marks in JEE (Main).
  • Obtaining a minimum of 60% marks in Maths, Physics and Chemistry in Class XII.

First tiebreaker: Mathematics marks
Second tiebreaker: Physics marks
Third tiebreaker: Chemistry marks

 Note: Class XII marks have no bearing on the ranking and seat allocation.

 Preferences: (Please read CAREFULLY) 

  • Include only those programmes (in the branch preference list) in which you are seriously interested. You do not have to give a programme for every preference  order.
  • If you are really keen on only 1 branch or programme, you should list it as your first and only preference.
  • If you are keen only on a few programmes of the institute, give preference order only among those. If none of your preferences is allotted during a particular round, you will have the option of continuing into further rounds.
  • Listing a programme in your preference list as a placeholder for another one is to be avoided as it robs the chance of another applicant genuinely serious in that programme.
  • No sliding is permitted after the last round of allotments.

Admission Procedure:

Round:

  • The admission process has multiple rounds.
  • In each round, the institute will allot a seat to the applicant, and the applicant will have a deadline by which they can accept or decline the allotted seat;
  • In the event no seat is allotted to the applicant, the applicant can continue to further rounds. This is not automatic.

Seat Acceptance:

  • The applicant should use the portal to explicitly accept the seat and pay the required fees as given below.
  • Applicants who fail to do so will have their seat allotment cancelled and will not be considered for the further rounds of admission.

Continuation to Further Rounds:

  • An applicant MUST explicitly concur (agree) to participate in further rounds of seat allotments.
  • This requires logging onto a portal and indicating acceptance and paying the required fee.

Cancellation:

An applicant can cancel their seat allotment at any time before reporting to the institute. 
Depending on the round of seat allotment and the date of cancellation, appropriate refund of the total amount paid will be sent back to the applicant by the end of September 2018.

     Note:   1.  Round 4 and 5 lists will be announced subject to availability of vacant seats.

                 3.  The dates for our allotment of seats, your acceptance/cancellation of the 
                      allotted seats, etc., may be modified based on the JoSAA-2018 schedule.

Procedure: The basic procedure for roundwise admission is that in every round, an applicant has to either accept an allotted seat or confirm their willingness to participate in the next round by a specific deadline. 

 

NOTE:  If a seat is allotted and you are satisfied with your current allotment accept, lock the seat and proceed for payment in the online portal. The allocation will be locked in your name and you will not be considered for your higher preferences in subsequent rounds.

If you want to be considered for your higher preferences in the next round of allotment, you need to first accept the seat and make the required payment to complete the seat acceptance. You can leave the accepted seat unlocked while doing so. Failure to accept the allotted seat and pay the fees will remove you from all subsequent rounds of seat allocation.

Cancellation and refund policy

  1. A seat that was accepted by paying the tuition fee of Rs 1,30,000/- can be cancelled by an applicant by selecting the cancel seat option in the portal.  The applicant will be given a partial or full refund of the amount paid to the institute depending on the date of cancellation.

Details of Round 1:

1a.Applicants who are offered seats in Round 1:

  • To accept the seat, pay Rs. 10,000  as Seat Allotment Fee (non-refundable) and   tuition fee towards full semester tuition fee on or before  the stipulated deadline through our online payment portal.
  • Applicants who do not accept the seat on or before the stipulated deadline will be out of seat allotment procedure and will not be considered for further rounds.

1b.Applicants who are not offered seats in Round 1:

  • To continue in further seat allotment rounds, pay Rs. 10,000 towards Seat Allotment Fee (non-refundable) and an additional amount of Rs. 10,000 towards Tuition Fee Advance on or before  the stipulated deadline.
  • Applicants who do not pay the above amount on or before the stipulated deadline will not be considered for further seat allotment rounds.

1c. Cancellation of admission of Round 1 (For applicants admitted in 1st Round): 

  • After accepting a seat and paying the tuition fee, if an applicant wants to cancel his/her seat for any reason, she/he must inform the institute at the earliest possible time through the portal.  In such case, the following amounts will be refunded out of the total tuition fee amount of paid to the institute. The refund of fee will be given depending on the date of intimation of cancellation:

  • Applicants who were allocated a seat but did not accept it by the second round seat acceptance deadline, will be out of seat allotment procedure and shall not be considered for further rounds. They will get refund of Rs. 19000/- out of Rs.20,000/- paid initially.

2b.Applicants who are not offered seats in Round 2:

  • To be eligible for further seat allotment rounds, the applicant MUST explicitly concur (agree) to participate in further round of seat allotment on or before the second round seat acceptance deadline through the portal for the same.
  • Only applicants who agree to continue the second round seat acceptance deadline will be considered for further rounds.
  • Applicants who do not express their concurrence to continue further rounds will get the refund of Rs.19,000/- (out of Rs.20,000/- initially paid) while retaining Rs.1,000/- as processing charges.
  • All refunds will be made on or before 30th  September of that year, after the entire admission process is completed.

2c. Cancellation of admission of Round 2 (For applicants admitted in 2nd Round):

4a. Applicants who are offered seats in Round 4:

  • To accept the seat offered, pay the remaining Semester Tuition Fee by the fourth round seat acceptance deadline through our online payment portal.
  • Applicants who do not accept the seat by fourth round seat acceptance deadline will be out of seat allotment procedure in case the 5th round of seat allotment is announced. They will get the refund of Rs. 19,000/- (Out of Rs.20,000/- initially paid) while retaining Rs.1,000/- as processing charges.
  • All refunds will be made on or before 30th  September of that year, after the entire admission process due to the high administrative overheads of the process.

 4b. Cancellation of admission of Round 4 (For applicants admitted in 4th Round):

  • After accepting a seat and paying the fee, if an applicant wants to cancel his/her seat for any reason, she/he must inform the institute on or before fourth round seat acceptance deadline through the portal. In such case, the following amount will be refunded out of the total tuition fee amount paid to the institute.

 There is no upgrading of  programs after the final round of allocation. All seat allocations will be final after the final round.

  1. The first year students should report to institute tentatively by 28th or 29th or 30th July. The exact date will be intimated to the students by admissions office.
  2. It may take one working day to get a confirmation to you from IIIT-H.
  3. All refunds will be made to the respective applicants by 30th  September of that year.
