UG Admissions Using JEE (Main) Marks 2015

Note on 4thJuly 2015: The dates of announcing the seat allotments, acceptance of the allotted seats, cancellations of seats, etc., have been adjusted slightly in the light of the changes in JoSAA counseling schedule for IITs/NITs. Please go through carefully and note the changes.

All applicants who have taken JEE (Main) 2015 examination can apply for the following programmes at the institute.

    Science in Computer Science and Engineering by Research

  • [CND] B.Tech in Computer Science and Master of Science in
    Computational Natural Sciences by Research
  • [BSD] B.Tech in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Building
    Sciences and Engineering by Research

 

Eligibility

Students should take JEE (Main) - 2015 and must separately apply for IIIT-H seat allotment procedure. Admissions are on the basis of the marks in JEE (Main).

Note: A minimum of 60% marks in Class XII is required for admission to all programs. Class XII marks carry no weightage in the selection of the applicant.

Preferences:

While applying, include only the programmes you are really ready to join, if allotted, in the branch preference list. The institute expects you to join a programme if it is allotted to you. If you do not take up an allotted seat, another student could have joined in your place. Do not list a programme in your preference list only as a placeholder for another one.

For example, if you are interested in the ECE (B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering) programme and no other programme of the institute, just give ECE as the first and only preference on the application portal. If you are keen only on a few programmes of the institute, give preference order only among those. If none of your preferences is allotted during a particular round, you will have the option of continuing into further rounds.

Note: The institute will not have sliding after the last round of allotments.

Please read the terms and conditions about our admission policy and refund policy carefully before filling the online application and before paying the tuition fee for seat allotment.

The admission process will be based on the following procedural steps that will be followed.

Round: The admission process will have multiple rounds. In each round, the institute will announce a seat allotment to the applicants, and the applicants will have a deadline by which they canaccept their seat allotted, decline the seat allotted, or (if no seat allotted)continue to further rounds.

Seat Acceptance: The applicant should use the portal to explicitly accept the seat. The applicant has to pay the required fees as given below. Applicants who fail to do so will have their seat allotment cancelled and will not be considered for the further rounds of admission.

Continuation to Further Rounds:An applicant MUST explicitly concur (agree) to participate in further rounds of seat allotments. This requires logging onto a portal and indicating acceptance, and paying the required fees as given below.

Cancellation: An applicant can cancel their seat allotment at anytime before reporting to the institute. Depending on the round of seat allotment and the date of cancellation appropriate refund of the total amount paid will be sent back to the applicant by the end of September 2015.

Details of Round 1:

1a.Applicants who are offered seats in Round 1:
  • To accept the seat, pay Rs. 10,000 as Seat Allotment Fee and Rs. 97,500 towards fullsemester tuition fee on or before 8thJuly 2015 through our online payment portal.
  • Applicants who do not accept the seat on or before 8th July 2015 will be out of seat allotment procedure and will not be considered for further rounds.
1b.Applicants who are not offered seats in Round 1:
  • To continue in further seat allotment rounds, pay Rs. 10,000 towards Seat Allotment Fee and an additional amount of Rs. 10,000 towards Tuition Fee Advance on or before 8th July 2015.
  • Applicants who do not pay the above amount on or before 8th July 2015 will not be considered for further seat allotment rounds.
1c. Cancellation of admission of Round 1 (For applicants admitted in 1st Round):
  • After accepting a seat and paying the fee, if an applicant wants to cancel his/her seatfor any reason, she/he must inform the institute at the earliest possible time through the portal. In such case, the following amounts will be refunded out of the total amount of Rs.107,500/- paid to the institute. The refund of fee will be given depending on the date of intimation of cancellation:

Details of Round 2:
2a. Applicants who are offered seats in Round 2:
  • To accept the seat, pay the remaining Semester Tuition Fee of Rs. 87,500/- on or before 14th July 2015 through our online payment portal.
  • Applicants who were allocated a seat but did not accept it by 14th July 2015, will be out of seat allotment procedure and shall not be considered for further rounds. They will get refund of Rs. 19000/- out of Rs.20,000/- paid initially.
2b.Applicants who are not offered seats in Round 2:
  • To be eligible for further seat allotment rounds, the applicant must express the willingness to continue on or before 14th July 2015 through the portal for the same.
  • Only applicants who express willingness by 14th July 2015 to continue will be considered for further rounds.
  • Applicants who do not express willingness to continue further rounds will get the refund of Rs.19,000/- (out of Rs.20,000/- initially paid) while retaining Rs.1,000/- as processing charges.
  • All refunds will be made on or before 30th September 2015, after the entire admission process is completed.
2c. Cancellation of admission of Round 2 (For applicants admitted in 2nd Round):
  • After accepting a seat and paying the fee, if an applicant wants to cancel his/her seat for any reason, she/he must inform the institute at the earliest possible time through the portal. In such case, the following amount will be refunded out of the total amount of Rs.107,500/- paid to the institute.   • To accept the seat, pay the remaining Semester Tuition Fee of Rs. 87,500on or before 20th July 2015 through our online payment portal.
  • Applicants who do not accept the seat by 20th July 2015 will be out of seat allotment procedure and shall not be considered for next round.
3b.Applicants who are not offered seats in Round 3:
  • To be eligible for further seat allotment round, applicants have to express the willingness to continue on or before 20th July 2015 through the portal.
  • Only applicants who express willingness by 20th July 2015 to continue will be considered for final round i.e., 4th round.
  • Applicants who do not express willingness to continue for 4throundwill get the refund of Rs.19,000/- (out of Rs.20,000/- initially paid) while retaining Rs.1,000/- as processing charges.
  • All refunds will be made on or before 30th September 2015, after the entire admission process is completed.
3c. Cancellation of admission of Round 3 (For applicants admitted in 3rd Round):
  • After accepting a seat and paying the fee, if an applicant wants to cancel his/her seat for any reason, she/he must inform the institute at the earliest possible time through the portal.In such case, the following amount will be refunded out of the total amount of Rs.107,500/- paid to the institute. 4a. Applicants who are offered seats in Round 4:
  • To accept the seat offered, pay the remaining Semester Tuition Fee of Rs. 87,500 by 24th July 2015 through our online payment portal.
  • Applicants who do not accept the seat by 24th July 2015 will be out of seat allotment procedure in case the 5th round of seat allotment is announced. They will get the refund of Rs. 19,000/- (Out of Rs.20,000/- initially paid) while retaining Rs.1,000/- as processing charges.
  • All refunds will be made on or before 30th September 2015, after the entire admission process due to the high administrative overheads of the process.
4b. Cancellation of admission of Round 4 (For applicants admitted in 4th Round):
  • After accepting a seat and paying the fee,if an applicant wants to cancel his/her seat for any reason, she/he must inform the institute on or before 23rd July 2015 through the portal. In such case, the following amount will be refunded out of the total amount of Rs.107,500/- paid to the institute

  1. There is no upgrading of programs after the final round of allocation.All seat allocations will be final after the final round.
  2. The first year students should report to institute on 1st August 2015 (Saturday)
  3. It may take one working day to get a confirmation to you from IIIT-H.
  4. All refunds will be made to the respective applicants by 30th September2015.
