Master of Science in IT in Building Science by Research

About The Program:

A research driven masters program mainly meant for candidates with a background in the domain of building/building systems design and construction. The program intends to develop aptitude towards research fields related to the building science. The duration of the program may extend beyond 2 years. Along with the core domain courses, students canselect related courses from other departments. They must however fulfill the minimum credit requirements for courses and thesis respectively.

Objectives:

The students get an opportunity to work on research problems related to design of high performance buildings.

Advantages:

The programme is interdisciplinary in nature. Student from different backgrounds would get an overall knowledge of the building science domain with specialization in one particular area. This integrated approach would help students in comfortably continuing further research or working in the field of high performance buildings in area of their specialization.

Duration:

Around one year of course work which will be followed by thesis work. Approximate duration is 2 .5 years

Eligibility:

B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech all branches,B.Arch/M.Arch, MCA. 

Curriculum:

Students are allowed to select courses from other departments which satisfy the requirement for Master of Science program, depending on their background and area of work. Along with these courses, some of the domain courses which students would take are:

  • Building Automation and Controls
  • Building Science
  • Building Energy Simulation
  • Introduction to Lighting Design
