The objective of SAHAAI is to undertake research on innovative applications of Artificial Intelligence to societal and human problems. It seeks to do it by coordinating and facilitating existing activity, or undertaking new activity. The Research section gives the list of ongoing projects in SAHAAI.

Establishment of the SAHAAI Centre was announced by Prof Raj Reddy at the 12th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI-07) held at Hyderabad in January 2007. The Center has been given seed funding by IJCAI and TPATI.

International Visiting Scholars Program

An international visiting scholars program is supported, under which international researchers can spend one month or more at the Center. They are expected to contribute to the ongoing SAHAAI research projects, but can also initiate a new project as long as it involves some human and social application of AI. All such proposals will be evaluated by the steering committee. People desirous of applying for the program may write to the email address below. SAHAAI also supports holding of the Indian AI conferences.

Interested researchers may write to bipin@iiit.ac.in for any queries or further information. This page will be regularly updated as more projects are initiated under SAHAAI.
