To work in an organization where my inherent knowledge can be utilized and I can constantly improve myself not only technically but as a complete individual. I am willing to work as a key player in challenging and creative environment.

Education

  • MS by Research (CSE), IIIT-Hyderabad, December, 2009 (expected)
  • B-Tech, International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad CGPA – 8.01
  • Senior Secondary, Saint John’s Sr Secondary School, Kota(Rajasthan) (CBSE 2003) Percentage – 69.4%
  • Secondary, Maheshwari Public School, Jaipur(Rajasthan) (CBSE 2001) Percentage – 84%

Academic & Research Experience

  • Working as a Research Assistant under Dr.P.Krishna Reddy (2006-current):
In this project, by exploiting advances in Information Technology (IT), we are making an effort to build a on-line cost-effective agricultural information dissemination system (eSagu) to disseminate expert agriculture knowledge to the farming community to improve the crop productivity. (Funded by Media Lab Asia)
  • I have been involved in design and development of several products. The overall experience fetched me knowledge of how to design and develop huge software using Software Engineering aspects.
    1. Developed an installable eSagu software product that could be installed in any linux machine.
    2. Developed products for on-line use to farmers like one time advice delivery and Question and Answering System in Agriculture domain.
  • I have been assigned to several roles and responsibilities:
    1. Worked as a Teaching Assistant for Web Data and Knowledge management (WDKM) under Dr. P.Krishna Reddy (Spring '08)
    2. Worked as a Teaching Assistant for Optimization Techniques under Dr. S.B.Sinha (Monsoon '07)
    3. Worked as a Teaching Assistant for Linear Programming under Dr.S.B.Sinha (Spring'09)

Primary Research & MS Thesis

  • Discovering Special Product Features to Improve the Process of Product Selection in E-commerce Environment
We have investigated the issue of selecting the appropriate product from the group of similar products and proposed an improved framework for the efficient product selection. It can be observed that every product has some specialty and possesses corresponding special features. The basic idea is as follows: a customer is shown special feature of every product instead of showing all the features.
  • An Approach to Identify Special Skills to Improve the Performance of Resume Selection (On-going)
We are trying to apply the notion of special features on Resume scenario. Basic idea is given a set similar resumes; we are trying to discover special/unique skills in each resume. A complete resume has a definite hierarchical structure consisting of some basic tags like education, projects, skills etc. We divide the resume based on these tags and try to extract special information to help the human resource managers in selecting resumes efficiently.

Projects

  • Assigning names to clusters in text document clustering
(Under the guidance of Dr. Vikram Pudi)
This project's aim is to assign names to the clusters. We need to overcome the problem of high-dimensionality, large data-sets and understandable description of the clusters. Application of this would be to make a searching facility with high precision and recall.
  • Text Summarization
(Under the guidance of Dr. P.K Reddy)
With the rapid growth of Internet, most of the textual data in the form of newspapers, magazines, and journals tend to be available on-line. Summarizing these talks can aid the users access the information content at faster pace. However doing this task manually is expensive and time consuming. Automatic text summarization is a solution for dealing with this problem. For a given text, a text summarization algorithm selects a few salient features based on certain features.
  • Automatic CD Uploading and Advice Delivery System for eSagu (Project sponsored by Media Lab Asia)
(Under the guidance of Dr. P.K Reddy)
Data coming from different villages in CD is automatically uploaded in databases. And after giving the advice by the agricultural experts advices are automatically uploaded in respective folders as per villages.
  • Spam filter
(Under the guidance Dr. Vikram Pudi)
This project deals with the problem of spam mails. Given a mail it would tell us whether the given mail is Spam or Ham. We implemented 5 algorithms for spam classification including comparisons between them and their efficiency. Dataset included around 1600 spam mails and same number of ham mails.
  • Query Classification
(Under the guidance of Dr.Vasudev Verma)
This was the solution to KDD CUP 2005 problem. We developed a module in PHP and Perl to categorize 800,000 queries into 67 predefined categories. This categorization is done with reasonable accuracy using the classification techniques of data mining, and making intelligent use of the results of search engines, viz., Google and Dmoz.
  • Data mining in Chess Dataset
(Under the course Data Warehouse and Data Mining)
Given a dataset of 13000 xml files of chess games we had to come up with a hypothesis which could help a chess player in improving his game strategy. Various techniques of Data mining were used. I also used a data mining tool Weka to test my hypothesis on various association rule mining algorithms.
  • Topic Detection and Tracking
The task is to automatically detect novel events from a temporally-ordered stream of news stories, either retrospectively or as the stories arrive. For this we implemented similarity based KNN approach, Single pass clustering method and KNN + Time approach.
  • TO BUILD A GUI FOR MORPH PACKAGE DEVELOPER
    (Under Dr.SomaPaul)
We developed a GUI for morph package that analyzes text data.Through the GUI the users are able to run the morph as well as aid in its development.
  • Others
  • 3-D Train modelling in OpenGl in 4th semester Graphics Course.
  • Developed a Tetris Game using OpenGL Library.
  • 3D rasterization API in 4th Semester Graphics Course.
  • Description and Requirement Analysis, ER Modelling, Building Database for Internet Movie Database , done as a part of DBMS course in 4th semester
