Primary Research & MS Thesis

  • The skyline operator has been proposed as an important operator for many applications such as multi-criteria decision making, data mining, and web information systems and relational databases. Our research is focused on finding an efficient method to calculate the skyline points.

Projects

  • Distributed DBMS Layer A distributed database application layer is built over MySQL database. A central database is fragmented and is distributed over three sites. An input query on the global database is processed, transformed and executed over the distributed sites. For update queries, two-phase commit protocol is also implemented.
  • Knowledge Discovery and Data mining Of e-sagu dataset This project was done as a part of the Data Mining Course. The project was to extract novel and significant knowledge from a huge dataset of e-sagu. We applied several Data Mining techniques to predict and analyze the kind of diseases that affect the crops in different seasons and at different level of growth of the crop. As the data contains noise and missing values, several pre-processing, Reduction, Data filling and Data mining techniques had to be studied and interesting results were obtained.
  • Decision Maker Decision Maker is a very useful tool, which is used to classify the given data into appropriate classes. Decision maker uses the concept of Decision Tree from Data Mining in order to classify the data. It is an effective and useful tool for data classification providing the functionalities such as constructing the decision tree for Training data, Classification of Test data, Single row testing and generation of Classification rules for decision tree.
  • Image Encryption Algorithms This project is done as a part of Digital Image Processing course. The project aims at implementing and designing image encryption algorithms with acceptable levels of security suitable for real-time applications.
  • Accelerated K-Means This project is done as a part of Pattern Recognition course. The project aims at implementing the paper “Accelerated K-Means” and analyzing and comparing the results with ordinary K-Means using various kinds of datasets.
  • Library Management System This project is done as a part of Database Management system. This helps the librarian, students and faculty to access the library system. This Intranet based application can be accessed throughout the campus. This system is used to search books/magazines, reserve books, put in requests to buy a new book etc.
  • Musical Store Automation To automate the transactions of a Music store so that the owner of the shop can verify whether a particular music CD/Cassette is available for rent or for sale and issue bill for the customer and can generate daily reports for sales and rentals.
  • MEDICOM: Medical Image Content Organizing and Mining Solutions The project deals with retrieving images from a dataset which are similar to a given query image. It involved implementation of clustering and classification methods for image retrieval along with normal image retrieval methods.

Extra-Curricular Activities

  • Won First prize in drawing competitions at school level.
  • Secured second place in Classical Dance Competition (Kuchipudi) at school level.
  • Member of C.L.A.S.I.C, Student's Chapter of CSE Department in Sir C R Reddy College of Engineering, Eluru.
