Transaction Management in distributed databases
Advisor: Prof. P. Krishna Reddy(Head: eSagu Project)
This is MS thesis research project going on under the guidance of Prof P. Krishna Reddy (Head eSagu project). Distributed database management systems are major components of modern information systems for storing data and for serving large number of information access requests issued by online users. These information systems frequently receive read-only transactions (ROTs) or queries. Proposed speculation-based approaches to improve the performance of read-only transactions in distributed databases without any data currency issues Evaluated the proposed protocols using discrete event simulations in java. -
Multi-Criteria Recommender Systems
Advisor: Prof. P. Krishna Reddy
This was done as research project going on under the guidance of Prof P. K. Reddy (Head eSagu project). Built a fully featured movie recommendation system which also allowed downloading and uploading movies. Users give ratings and get recommendations on the basis of collaborative filtering user-based and item-based recommendation algorithms. -
Blog Visualization using Google-map
Advisor: Prof. Kamal Karlapalem (Academics Dean ,IIIT-H
It involves web mining components like crawler, fetcher, indexer and parsers like HTML parser, SGML parser to extract author's information from blogs. Nowadays blogs are hot topics, so if we can get author information like his location then we can use it for advertising, extracting patterns and trends of the corresponding place. Technologies used are Ajax, Python, Java and MySQL. -
Expert Enterprise Search using nutch
Advisor: Prof. Vasudev Verma (Head: SIEL lab)
Implemented a expert enterprise search for intranet. It involves retrieving experts information to search query using nutch as base search engine and then python code for extracting the useful information. -
UI for integrating Bugzilla with Webkhoj
Advisor: Vasudev Verma
Webkhoj is multilingual search engine which has support for different Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu etc (http://webkhoj.iiit.ac.in). It is distributed CLOUD-based search engine using nutch as a base and has support for cross language information retrieval(CLIR). -
Distributed Database Management System
Advisor: Mr. Satyanarayana Valluri
The task was to implement a DDBMS with limited functionality which would support Read Only and Update Queries excluding the complexities of group by, order by etc. and work at level of fragmentation transparency. -
Inter-House Events Management System
Advisor: Mr. Ramesh Loganthan(Progress Software)
Systems components includes Student Information System, Event Manager and Admin. Implemented using java servlets by making RPC calls from each module. XML was used for communication. Interface included Mash-up techniques like Google maps and using other sites like flickr and facebook etc. -
PGSSP Admission Portal
Advisor: Mr. Vikram Pudi
Developed a full-fledged which will accept online forms from professionals and process them. Involves document uploading, status updates regarding acceptance etc. Running successfully in IIIT for admissions to PGSSP course. -
Other Projects
- PGSSP Admission Portal
- Secondry indexing on Non-primary Key Algorithm (DBMS course project).
- Implemented Synthetic dataset generator for evaluating performance of mining rare patterns
- Implemented carrom and solar system in GNU.
- Implemented "Extracting Patterns and Relations from World Wide Web" research paper by sergey brin
