Major Projects

  • Building registration portal for PGSSP students
    The goal of this project was to build a portal which would allow students to register for the PGSSP examination. It also has built in facilities to allow the administrator to check the applications received and decide which ones to select or not. Once the administrator has selected his choice the mails of confirmation are sent accordingly.
  • Mining E-Sagu Dataset
    Esagu dataset consists of agricultural data received across many farms in Andhra Pradesh. The initial phases of data preprocessing here include correcting errors in data and replacing the missing values. I used many Clustering and Classification algorithms from tools like Weka, Orange here to help me in viewing the results. The basic goal of my work here was to look at association rules within separate groups to detect the pattern of pest attacks on plants.
  • (MS Project)Interactive Classification and Clustering
    This project basically revolves around the idea that in today's world we have so many classification algorithms which classify data effectively with high accuracy, but these do not actually produce classifications which reflect the kind of class labels the expert expects to see in the data. We have developed a unique algorithm along with an interface so that the expert can involve himself in the data mining process by providing the system with sufficient domain knowledge through his actions. Briefly speaking the bottomline of this project is to attain user satisfaction with the results with minimum interaction.
  • Generalizing PageRank: damping functions for link-based ranking algorithms
    This project was a part of my Web Data mining course. In this project we implemented this research paper and tested the algorithm. We evaluated the algorithm using different kinds of mathematical damping functions and how it affected page rank performance.

Extra-Curricular Activities

  • Organized many cultural events during Felicity ‘08, a cultural cum technical annual fest of IIIT-Hyderabad.
  • Won 2nd prize in Bizwit an entrepreneurial competition and received a special mention in Creative writing contest at Felicity'09, the cultural cum technical annual fest of IIIT-Hyderabad.
  • Participated in singing, poetry and skit competitions in the college.
  • Got selected to be a student of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's classes on E-governance at IIIT-H.
