Projects

  • Waveform Design for MIMO radar (ongoing)
Faculty Advisor: Prof. V. Umapathi Reddy
Abstract: MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) Radar is an emerging technology and mas several applications, many in defense. This project aims at investigating and formulating an algorithm for designing a radar waveform to satisfy certain given constraints and maximize the performance, either on resolution, diversity of some other factor.
    Technologies used: C, Matlab

  • Spectrum Sensing for Cognitive Radio
Faculty Advisor: Prof. V. Umapathi Reddy
Abstract: Cognitive Radio is a technology which aims to make our utilization of spectrum more efficient. Spectrum sensing is the first and one of the keys steps in the cognitive cycle. This project was aimed at investigating and simulating the existing methods and formulating a better method for spectrum sensing.
    Technologies used: C, Matlab

  • Classification and Identification of LPI Radar Signals.
Faculty Advisor: Prof. V. Umapathi Reddy
Abstract: The objective of the project was to develop algorithms for intercepting and analyzing LPI radar signals and trying to classify and identify them. Wavelets were used to get the time-frequency profile of the received signal and the LPI signals were classified based on the waveforms.
    Technologies used: C, Matlab

  • Bit Interleaved Coded Modulation (BICM) codes
Faculty Advisor : Dr. Zafar Ali Khan
Abstract: The aim of the project was to investigate and simulate the performance of BICM codes.
    Technologies used: Matlab

  • LDPC Codes
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Zafar Ali Khan
Abstract: The objective of the project was to understand and simulate the performance of Low Density Parity Check codes, which have a lot of applications in Sattelite Communcications.
    Technologies used: Matlab

  • Digital Image Processing Techniques for Facial Detection
    Faculty Advisor: Dr. Jayanthi Siwaswamy
Abstract: The objective here was, given a template of faces of certain people, to identify these people given a video stream.
    Technologies used: C, Matlab

  • Other projects
    • Efficient Format for Storage of Voice
    • MC6802 Microprocessor simulation
    • VLSI tools project
    • Frequency-based Communication System
