Brief Bio-data of Prof Kenneth Keniston

 

Kenneth Keniston is Andrew W Mellon Professor of Human Development in the Program in Science, Technology, and was Director of the MIT India Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 

He was Visiting Professor at the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. He is Senior Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Information Technology-Bangalore (IIITB) and also member of the Governing Board of the IIITB. Professor Keniston is actively involved in various e-Governance projects in India and has been interacting with different States, monitoring the progress of ICT initiatives for India with help from Ministry of Communications & IT. With Indian colleagues and graduate students, he is currently engaged in a comparative ethnographic study of sites that seek to use modern information and communication technologies for e-governance and the improvement of life in rural India.
